Following the recent extension of government restrictions and the continued uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, we have taken the decision to cancel the Flying Legends July 2020 air show.

At present, the Battle of Britain Air Show will be taking place as planned in September 2020 but we will continue to monitor and review the situation in order to prioritise the wellbeing of our visitors, staff and volunteers.

“Flying Legends celebrates the classic age of piston powered aviation, when brilliant engineers and pilots opened a new era of travel, globalisation and exceptional progress. We are proud to participate in keeping some of these aeronautical masterpieces flying and so too the memories of those who built, maintained, flew and fought in them.” Stephen & Nick Grey

“Please advise whoever it may concern that The Flying Legends air show was the best air show I have ever attended (and I have been to a few!) The Spitfire opening and finale was fantastic, however undoubtedly the star of the show was the Constellation. Not seen one flying for 40 years, bought a tear to my eyes!” Colin Dudley   “Each time Flying Legends is held, its organisers orchestrate breathtaking displays and unique multi-aircraft flypasts. This year’s extravaganza yet again lived up to the always high expectations.” FlyPast / Aeroplane Monthly    “I want to say a big thank you to everyone involved with putting on Flying Legends. I have just got home from spending three wonderful days at Duxford watching Aviators fly restored warbirds over a beautiful historic airfield. My fifth legends and I am hooked. Twenty one up. I hope I get to attend and celebrate 25, 30 and even the 40th anniversary of Legends.” Richard Bryant

  • “Duxford’s Flying Legends airshow continues to be an event without parallel in the UK. For those who love history and warbirds it is arguably the leading event in Europe – something that is evident from the huge numbers of overseas visitors who make the annual pilgrimage to the hallowed Cambridgeshire airfield.” FlyPast / Aeroplane Monthly     “I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the Flying Legends air show which we attended on my carers birthday! What made it so special was the effort made to make it so accessible.” Gill Dickens   “I just wanted to pass on my massive thanks for putting on a spectacular show, as usual. Some of the best flying I’ve seen in a long time.” James Austin   “The biggest and best classic aviation event in the world.” Martin Steele – Key Publishing.

“Exciting, invigorating, emotional – Flying Legends is all of these and more. At every single edition have been staged spectacles hitherto deemed unthinkable at a British air display. Flying Legends is truly a jewel in the worldwide historic aircraft scene’s crown.” Ben Dunnell – Aeroplane Monthly   “I would like to thank you very much for a fantastic air display this Sunday. I have some fantastic pictures, and the day was well worth the cost.” Ian Graham   “We had a great time over the weekend. It was a terrific show, lots of great flying and displays, and we also met a lot of not only nice but interesting people. The Gold Pass was a wonderful treat. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :-)” John Van Huyck
